AI risk by occupation

How exposed is your job to AI?

Look up your occupation and see which tasks AI could take over or speed up, where it can help you and which skills keep you relevant.

  • We look at tasks, not people
  • It is an estimate, not a prediction

Two different things: exposure and augmentation

The same job can be both exposed to AI and helped by it. That is why we show two separate estimates.

  • Exposure to automation

How much of the occupation's typical tasks today's AI tools could largely do. High exposure means the work may change, not that the job goes away.

  • Augmentation

How much of the work AI can speed up or improve while a person stays in control. Here AI is an assistant: it takes over repetitive tasks and leaves you time for the parts that need judgement.

  • What it does not mean

It is not an assessment of you as a person, nor a decision about your career. Two people with the same occupation can have very different tasks. Use the estimate as a starting point for what you want to learn.

How we make the estimate

We use the scores published by the International Labour Organization (ILO) in its study “Generative AI and Jobs” (2023). Researchers assessed, task by task, how exposed each ISCO-08 occupation group is to generative AI tools.

We show the ILO score (0 to 1) as exposure from 0 to 100 and link it to every occupation on the platform through its four-digit ISCO code, so all occupations in the same group share the same score. The ILO places some groups under “automation potential” or “augmentation potential” but gives no augmentation score, so we do not make one up.

The source is cited on each occupation page. We will update the estimates when the ILO publishes new data (for example its refined 2025 index).

Limits

The estimate describes an occupation in general, not your specific job. It does not account for the company, the industry or how fast employers adopt AI. Do not use it as the only basis for an important decision.
